I need new reel and is there $30 diff between these two reels? Or is the $30 for the nicer handle and aluminum spare spool?
Thank you

I have both and would pay the extra $30 for the Stradic. I think it is smoother and seems better balanced. Nothing wrong w/ the Symetre but they both seem to hold up well and for a long term investment I usually find the extra $ is worth it.

Absolutely the Stradic is worth the extra $30. Much smoother. I now have 4 and another on the way. Won't buy another spinning reel. LOL Fred

Yepper--both great reels. The only difference is options, spare spool or rear drag etc. I am a rear drag fan so I opted for the Symetry, but use both reels and like them. The Stradic is silk!!
The only hang up I have with the front drag Shimano's is that fire line and even mono tends to sneek under the front botton of the drag and get caught on the ridges, ticks me off at night! Might just be me though? Most likely is! (:

Sorry Eddy but it must be you. I have a Sedona, Sahara and Symetre, all front drag. I have NOT experienced that problem. Love them all.

I've never had that happen on my Stradic, and I use Fireline 6/2. Granted the rear drag is more convenient, but I went with the simplicity, smaller footprint, and smooth operation of the front drag with my Stradic.
