If you need information on the Cabela's NTC tournament at Milford Lake, I urge you to visit our website. We have built a dedicated page for those anglers coming to Kansas. Just go to:
www.junctioncity.org
After your at the site, click on the Convention and Visitors Bureau page. Once at the page, you'll see a link to the Cabela's NTC page. We have listed information on obtaining topo maps, location, lake structure, etc.
We will be mailing a packet of information to all anglers, which will include a lake map (not a topo), discount coupons, etc. We are currently working with Cabela's as to what will be in the packet.
We look forward to having you here. The walleye don't look forward, as they are saying your guys and gals know too much and they are fearful you will breakup families. The walleye union is currently conducting local strategy meetings and are planning to "STRIKE" while your at the lake!!!
You can also get official Kansas maps and a Visitors Guide by going to their website at:
www.travelks.com
Once again, we look forward to having you at the largest lake in Kansas, Milford Lake - The Fishing Capitol of Kansas

Read some posting that was on the announcement of the site, made by Chris Bahl. Just want to clear up a few things that I did not put in my first post.
I would not consider fishing Milford Lake as having to "Gorilla" fish. Though some hang-ups are out there, it's not as bad as some northern lake jungles.
Yep, we do have Wipers, but also a strong population of Smallmouth! I try to fish everyday, but just chase those brownies!!!! Lots of rock!!! Milford Lake is the current home of the KS State Record for Smallmouth.
As for leeches, don't worry, the marina "WILL" have them. We have a huge population of shad, with crawdads staying hid in the rocks.
The 2nd largest Cabela's store in the nation is located about 1 1/2 hours to the east, on I-70, next to the KS Speedway.

I just talked to a hotel owner. He just laughed when I told him that their was going to be a tourney with 200 boats. He said the lake was dry, "looks like a pond" The lake is down 15 feet or so. He said I hope it rains.

Sounds like....

Please tell us which one so we don't stay there and get run down by his quick wit each day. Thanks

Very Funny,

I stopped at this lake on a trip to Missouri this past August. Compared to the front range lakes in Colorado, this place looked like an Ocean.I wish our lakes had that much water that late in the year. I envy all of those that are invited, rather earned their way to this tourney. Look at it on a map and it seems to me it's parked right in the middle of the great USA. Wishing you all a great time.
