This past summer we went to Cape Cod to visit my grandma. She lives in a house built in 1775 and has some great antiques. She asked us to drive out so we could bring some antiques home, but given time constraints and kids, we had to fly (we'll drive next time). Anyway, she asked me if there was anything I wanted that she could ship. She has this awesome pig foot stool and I can remember playing on it as a kid. Today the pig arrived by UPS. The problem is that pig is in pretty rough shape. The leather is hard and cracking in some places. Is there anyway to condition the leather with something that will restore suppleness and strength? Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

FJH

When I was a kid, boy that was a long time ago, I had this habit of leaving my ball glove out in the rain. It would get hard and dry. I used a product called neetsfoot oil. Worked great except I would caution you on the odor. Although it isn't repulsive it still has a smell that you or others might not like.
