Watched it last night on Fox news. Couldn't of happened to a nicer bunch of guys!

Yeah. It looks like there's pretty much no escape from the plane's firepower. It must suck to be on the receiving end.

There was no place for the victims of the World Trade Center to run and hide either. They opened a huge can of worms, now we're going fishin'....

It must just be me, but I find it appalling to watch another human being die regardless of their beliefs and affiliations.

Appalling, yes. But as I watched that video I was nowhere near as appalled as I was on September 11, 2001. I think of this as payback/deterrant. And if we can't deter another attack such as the one that killed thousands of innocent people on 9/11, wipe out the potential problem. Darwin called it "Survival of the Fittest". JMO.

I can understand your point Dennis, and I accept your opinion because this is a free country. However, I'm not saddened to watch these cave dwelling rats die. I have not forgotten September 11, nor will I ever!!!

OH BOY

Get a grip on those feelings. You may dislike what you saw but there is a high probability that those same figures running around on the ground would have killed any American just to do it. To bad for them, it looks like they will never get that chance now!

Dennis,

Apalling, no. Do I take glee in it, absolutely not. Necessary, probably.

It is horrible that we have come to this. Unfortunately, as long as there have been men (and I mean male and female) these conflicts have taken place. They will continue to take place until the end of mankind. For as long as someone has something or another wants something, we'll replay this again and again.

I will never forget that horrible day. I cried like I have never cried before or since. Watching, imagining the horror that all those people in the buildings, in the planes, on the ground, had to experience.

I am a Christian man and I can forgive but I will never forget that day. Those that have chosen us as an enemy must be repelled at all cost. This does not mean that we are to take happiness in it. However, it is entirely justifiable to protect your own life if another tries to do you harm.

Yep, if you come to get me be prepared because you may be leaving without your life.

Good Luck

No thanks, I saw it live, in Nam. Don't dream about it much anymore ... all I wanna do is go fishing.

My dad flew those. I still have some of the massive shell casings. I remember him telling me how massive the firepower of those planes was. Based out of NYC, he was flying a 757 to Rio on 9-11.

Here's to you, dad--and to all those who sacrifice to preserve our way of life!!

No matter how those on the ground died in the videos show here, I still don't think they had half of the fear in them that our people had to make them jump from 110 stories up .If you think THEY didn't glee with pride over our people jumping you are wrong . I think they should show more of it (videos ) on the evening NEWS , I know it would make me feel better . Kill them all , they would not stop and think for a moment about killing you or yours .

I seen it live also in Nam,but it is necessary now. A whole different ball game now.

Am I appalled? Absolutely not. As a Police Officer who worked at ground zero in NYC, what I find appalling is the smell of rotting American flesh, the horror of the victim's families, and the fact that the cowardly terrorists still exist in great numbers. It is the responsibility of the United States along with allied nations to eliminate terrorism from this world. It's going to be a long bumpy ride but justice & freedom will prevail. I for one do not ever want to respond to a scene like the WTC again.

Oh, you're so right Mark, there's no escape. You can't hear or see the individual bullets. You hear a giant buzz saw or ripping sound and the tracers look like a red searchlight beam going from the plane to the ground. "Spooky" can cover a football field with bullets one foot apart in less than 3 seconds.

It takes a special kind of person to exact the justice required in these instances. The American public wants justice, but they would rather not witness the way it has to be carried out. This is common place today. And until everyone gets enough back bone and courage up to stand tall and defend ourselves, these terrorists will return. Too often people wait until they are directly effected to take a stand. The problem is that by then it is usually to late for you loved ones!

It is absolutly necessary to witness the methods required so to properly understand it all. You do not have to love killing, but you do have to witness it.

IT IS THE PRICE OF KEEPING FREEDOM!

Kodiak,

My hat is off to you and those like you who dropped everything and stepped up to the plate with no questions asked. Thank you.

To the video in the link, I watched it 2x. At first in wild eyed bewilderment that we posses this type of technology and have for some time. Secondly that the Taliban types being wated were so totally unaware of what was going on or what they should do. Their long standing tactic of fleeing into the open desert night and laying on the ground did them no good as it made them sitting ducks. Running into the tunnel did nothing but concentrate them into one easy shot.

The second time I watched the vid I was maddened again, almost as mad as on 9-11.

It made me mad to see these guys getting chunked apart like that. Not that we were taking out someone that would glady get on YOUR CHILDRENS school bus and blow it up, but that we are forced to take action that kills anyone. We did not go looking for this, we did not start this. And despite their fawning and posturing, most of the rest of the worls wants these guys taken out as they are lashing out at them now too.

I think all war is sensless at it's base level. All the destruction and killing is disheartening to me. However, I also know that we would and may still see another 9-11 type attack in another form. This is why it must be stopped. With the help of all our allies.

Merry Christmas to all who cannot be with their families this Christmas, from LEO and Fire Depts to our Military...........R

Yes, its necessary, and yes it's a good thing we have these weapons to give our guys on the ground easy victories with all the blood loss on the other side. The dirt-poor, uneducated peasants on the getting end probly had no idea why we're mad at them. In most cases they ended up in the Taliban warlord's army because there was no other work. The fanatics from the Pakistan mullah schools who rushed across the border to enlist in the Taliban cause are in a different category they are the bad guys who started all this s--t. The original poster invited people to look at the video and all I said was no thanks I seen it in Nam and that was enough. Maybe there's some young bucks out there who get jollie's watching it on TV all i can say is go right ahead and be thankful you can see it from your living room. Been there, done it, now just an gray haired man who wants to forget what war looks like and go fishing. Yes I support our troops yes I do.

I didn't know that Skurulsky was a muslim name? Or Arab for that matter. Sounds like you are in the wrong country if you don't want our enemy's destroyed.

I have a couple of comments... I have seen the ##### of war and do not want it or wish for it. But, even though I am way too long in the tooth; I would go tomorrow to deliver justice to our enemies. We must do this... I believe that our way of life, our freedom and our descendant's freedom are in grave danger unless this current assault on western civilization and our collective values is destroyed.

As a side note... That AC=130 is the weapons platform that was requested by our commanders in Somalia.. President Clinton... that great military mind... refused to allow them to be introduced. As a result, you get to see Blackhawk Down. That AC-130 would have provided all the firepower necessary to allow a rescue or have even prevented the shootdown. My point... This President will not and does not handicap our military commanders with poll results and political "considerations". Rest assured he will command and our leaders will lead us to victory. Thank God we hqave a President who will defend us and not poll and debate us to oblivion.

We also must be willing to stand firm at home. Like it or not there are plenty of Muslim and Islamic fundamentalists here on our soil right now. NO, it is not all Muslims or all followers of Islam we need to fear. However, these groups MUST stand up and condem these radicals. I sure have not heard this very loud.

If they do not expose the radicals and publicly out them, we have no other choice but to lump them together.

Also, where is NOW (The National Organization of Women)? Look at these women on our own shores that are repressed into covering their faces. These women are forced into lesser prominence in their social groups.

That will be all for now. Over and out.

I agree with you Greg Meyer on the issue of once we go to war cant hold back must use best weapons to secure victory minimize our casualties.

Yeah-

Think how much that video cost in munitions, fuel, training, etc.

I didn't smile or stroke myself when I first saw it, however, I was amazed by the sheer magnitude of firepower this particular weapon possesses. I had once seen a still image of an AC-130 circling with a ~dozen streams of tracer criss-crossing toward the ground and since then had been impressed with it's capabilities regardless of the targets. Just like when I was speechless when I first saw an aircraft carrier or when I got to tour an Abrams tank that is on display at work.

Guest-
I've seen and smelled death in person so don't accuse me of having virgin eyes or a hard-on for carnage.

I don't relish the idea that these people are getting hosed down and that many of them had families, hopes, and dreams, as unique as my own. But they made their choice, they had their dance, and now their gonna pay with their a$$. The action our military is taking is more for the benefit of insuring our (USA) future/safety than satisfing a taste for revenge IMO.

Been there. Done that. Called them in. Would do it again in a heartbeat if this old body would carry me there. Like the guy said in a prior post ... "You don't have to like it, you just have to do it".

Here is a couple of thoughts for you who cared to read this thread ...

- Those muslim extremists would kill you, your friends, and your family in a heartbeat and they would smile while they were doing it. And if they could torture you first, they would. Ask Danny Pearle.

- Freedom is NOT free. Good people have given their lives in the past for us to be free, and unfortunately, the future will be no different. Good people have also had to TAKE lives in the past for us to be free, and unfortunately, the future will be no different. It saddens me, but that is the way it is. Ask Neville Chamberlain.

There are a lot of good thoughts here but I feel you put it the best. This is something that needs to be done and I hope they are watching it on T.V. all around the planet. Maybe, just maybe, it will stop some lunatic in the years ahead from committing suicide for himself or for his followers. That is what it is when you force the Strongest Military force on Earth to put you in the cross-hairs and exhibit it's ability's to the fullest. Apparently Saddam is a slow learner. He needs a second lesson.

The fanatics who are terrorists are not going to be deterred by seeing movies, pictures, etc. 19 of them died to pull off the hijacking of those 4 planes on 911. They accomplished their mission. How many years did it take them to plan that act?

What about the navy ship - the Cole? What about the embassies that were simultaneously bombed? I didn't like seeing people die, but I think it's a defensive act that the US of A must take to destroy them.

The residual terrorist cells need to be rooted out and destroyed before another horrible act is perepetrated that takes a few thousand more innocent Americans. Did 5 guys sneak across the Canadian border to do something down here?
