Going to Leech the week of July 16. Any recommendations on locking into walleye there. I'm pretty familiar with the lake. I see lots of boats drifting the sand flats, but I've been told the eyes are suspeded deep in Walker Bay that time of year. Any input? I'm looking to do day and night fishing.
Thanks, D

I haven't discovered the secret (or technique) but I do know some big walleyes are taken just off Breezy Point each summer. I have worked the area hard and have not scored, but I know of guys who have.
An often over-looked area for summer walleyes is Agency Bay. Work both sides of the center sand bar that extends out from Roosevelt canal. And, if you want a boat ride, work the rock/sand bar that runs southwesterly off the southwest corner of Bear Island. You'll catch fish. If you like to troll Shad raps in the evening, work the west side of Traders Bay in 10 feet of water.
i am going around that same time
i am interested in perch and walleye
any ideas
