A question similar to the "Is it legal thread," but hopefully less crabby. If my brother and I are fishing in the same boat on an inland body of water in Minnesota, he catches 8 keeper sizes eyes and I only catch 4, could that beconsidered a limit, or would he have to stop after catching his 6? We usually don't have this problem as we put most fish back, and we haven't exactly been breaking any records this year, but I was kinda curious.

My understanding is that he needs to stop fishing when he catches his 6th fish. I had DNR watch me w/ binoculars (I was unaware of their presence) while fly fishing for trout. I was using barbless hooks and reaching under water to release w/o even lifting the fish from the water. After 7-8 trout caught and released they approached me. Thought I had been putting fish in a trap or stringer under water. DNR guy even put on waders and searched the water for said fish. I was fishing with my dad and he had yet to catch a fish at the time, so if a party rule was in effect I do not feel we would have been approached. My gut is that if they watched you the entire time and one fisherman was over limit, he is in violation. Tough to prove unless they have you on tape, which is also a possibility.
