From what I gather it sounds like there is little snow again on mille lacs. Does anyone know of a good way to bank a fish house without snow? All we have been able to come up with for ideas are construction blankets or hay bales. Thanks for the help.

Buy the roll insulation and place it around your house. Relatively inexpensive and can be rolled up to re-use. Let the water freeze around your house from drilling holes before you put it down, helps keep it from freezing down.

simply measure the space you need to bank and cut some plywood to fit and screw it to the bottom of the house with a cordless drill when you get the house set up.

what we use is a 12" cpvc pipe cut to length I have seen guys cutting down five gallon pails for the same purpose but in my house my holes were cut square so I took the cut out piece and traced the pipe outside diameter onto the cut out piece cut the circumference out and put that back over the square holes and slide the pipe through it so I have a nice tight fit around my pipe than there is no need to bank never have a problem with my hole freezing either. By the way I got the cpvc from a sewer water contractor that was working by my house They tend to have broken or cut pieces sometimes you know what they say one mans trash is another ones treasure
