Does anybody know if there is a website to see if a certain type of fishing rod has any collectible value? I have JC Higgins steel fishing rod with a pflueger silkast casting reel. A pretty neat decoration for my den. And a Wards precision model 40 casting reel on a steel rod with a cork handle that has no identifying marks. Pretty cool looking items with some scroll work on them. Does anybody know where I can find out if they are worth anything? Thanks in advance.

When I asked just about the same question (Pfluger Nobby on solid steel rod) of the VP of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Assoc, all he could tell me was "it has value if you find someone who wants to pay you for it."
He said there were a dozen or so good books on collectible lures, but very few sources on rods and reels. But, someone must want them -- Mine hangs in my family room, but I'd like to know if it has "value" other than what someone "might" pay.
