Eddy's Resort is a good location -- launch in their marina, good food in their lakefront restaurant, fine accommodations. Remember, too, if the big water doesn't let you fish, there are dozens of good lakes nearby in the old Mille Lacs basin. Take a look at a detailed map and you'll see what I mean.
If you are going in the fall try to plan your trip around the full moon periods. The night time crank bait bite can be awesome all around the lake during the full moon.As for your boat it should be plenty good , just use common sense like anywhere else and you should have no problems.

The boat that you have should work great as it is probably the most popular that you will see on the lake. One thing you may want to add is a drift sock if you don't have one. This time of year the mud flats are the typical place to fish during the day and on the rocks at night. Good baits to use are nightcrawlers and leeches with Lindy type rig or spinner rig. Good luck and don't forget to check with the local bait shops.

Your boat will work fine. The only thing I would suggest that hasn't been mentioned is that if it seems too rough on the west or south end of the lake, trailer your boat to the north end of the lake. Usually it is much more protected there due to north or NW winds and the lake will be much calmer. In the fall we've had some success bobber fishing the shallow rocks on the south and west side. Also the sand bite on the north end gets much better in the fall. Good luck. Bret
