Will be in Bloomington for 5 days in mid July on bussiness. Traveling from Ontario. Would like to check out a few tackle shops in the area for products (walleye gear) not found in my neck of the woods. ie. specialty jigs etc.
Any suggestions where I should try? Will be staying near Mall of America.
Thanks in advance
Al

Try Galyan's on 494 and Penn. (I think it's Penn, if not, it is right around there) It is on the North side of the freeway. They will have everything you need. There is also a Sportsmart close by, but they will have a much smaller selection.

With five days to conduct your business, you certainly can take 4 to 5 hours to visit Cabela's just off I-35 north of Owatonna. I'd guess it's no more than 45 minutes drive from where you'll be staying. Be sure to get an elk or buffalo sandwich in the cafeteria while there.

You could also check out Gander Mountain at 98th and Lyndale just off of 35W.

You have to go to Cabelas, 45 minute drive from mall of america. Don't waste your time with the other places.
Good Luck

Howdy, Big Al
The others have covered most of the major places near where you will be staying
Gander Mountain - 98th and Lyndale (SE corner), Bloomington
Galyans - 35W and 494 (NW corner), exit Penn from 35W, Richfield
Cabela's - 35W south approx 45 miles to Owatonna (West side of 35 - I forget which exit, but just watch for the signs)
Others in the metro area include Capra's and Thorne Bros. These are both great shops (Thorne Bros especially, if you chase muskies). However, they are located on the north side of Mpls, about 25 miles from Bloomington. Just throwing them out there!
e-mail me with any questions if you like.
