I am a iowan so I always root for the hawkeyes. I live right next to nebraska, so I love those huskers. But I have to say, I was rooting hard for Ohio tonight, thinking they really didnt have a chance. After they finished the last few games, barely beating sub par teams, I thought that my hawkeyes would kill em. But they proved that they really are the national champs.

Since this a rare time that I will ever say this, (maybe not ever again) HOORAY FOR THE BUCKEYES

What a demonstration on dedication, and class. The only fear I have now is Tressel will be courted by N.F.L. teams wanting to throw huge amounts of money in his pockets, and him leaving.

I have been laughing at the "experts" saying how Miami's speed was going to dismantle the Buckeye defense for a while now. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm......somebody should have told Miami about Ohio State's defensive speed......

What a great game and great win for some kids that played their hearts out in a tough battle. You gotta love it!!

Miami can take their 30 some game win streak and shove it!!!!!!! OHIO STATE BUCKEYES ARE NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!!

GO BUCKS!!!!!

BTW...my heart goes out to MaGahee. Man was that knee ugly. I hope he can come back strong.

Go Bucks!!! ~ Great Game ... I think Michigan's only fear is that Capt Tressel "will stay" at OSU :-) :-) :-) LoL

I agree, great game. The Buckeyes deserved to win. They outplayed Miami in every aspect.

I don't want to put a damper on the win for Ohio St., but what did everyone think of the phantom pass interference call in the end zone in OT? Everyone thought the game was over, people were walking on the field and suddenly, like divine intervention, the flag appears. Replays showed the official that threw the flag calling it incomplete, then suddenly he threw a flag. Had to be about a 5 second delay. Miami would have won. And, the replay showed no pass interference.

I'm convinced referees do not have the slightest idea of what pass interference is. Too many incidences of blowing this call this year. Case in point: My beloved Packers got a huge break against the ViQueens on a referees blown pass interference call. Another: Marshall beats Miami of Ohio at Marshall due to a horrible pass interference call on 4th down. There are many more examples, but do you get my point?

I don't want to take anything away from Ohio St. They played a heck of a game a deserved the win. Just wondering if I saw something different from what others saw?

I saw the flag being thrown you just caught a glimpse of it in the bottom right corner of the tv. It was a good call the receiver was being mugged. This game was better than all the super bowls combined.

I also hope that MaGahee is OK. He's a great young running back. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it looked.

Well now maybe that was divine intervention..........:-)

Kinda reminds me of a story I heard about Bo Schembeckler and a premonition he had about dying and going to heaven. St. Peter welcomed him at the pearly gates and led him to his heavenly house complete with maize and blue trim, block M painted on the lawn, gigantic mailbox of the same colors with "M Go Blue" painted on the side.

Bo was thrilled until he looked down the way and saw a mansion 15 times the size of his eternal home. It was decked out in scarlett and gray, intricately trimmed with block O's and buckeye leaves, had enormous buckeye trees growing in the well lighted yard, and had OSU marching band music playing "Hang on Sloopy" and "Across the Field." Even the mailbox was bigger and had "GO BUCKS!" painted on the side.

Bo said to St. Peter he was grateful for his place in heaven but wanted to know why Woody's house was so much bigger and fancier.

St Peter laughed and said:

"Bo my son.....that is not Woody's house, that's God's house"

GO BUCKS!!!!

interference hmm.on the 3rd down play, rite before miamis
punt return that set up there oppurtunity to put the game
in overtime, the defensive back grabs gamble's jersy not once
but twice, not just a little grab, but his shirt was 2' from his
body.had they called that one the bucks run out the clock and
we wouldn't be talkin about this at all.
still the greatest college game i've ever seen.

I saw the flag also for 1/2 a second. The angles were not real good but I thought there was some pushing as they entered the end zone. Justice may have prevailed. When Ohio was trying to keep a drive alive in regulation the receiever was pulled twice by the shirt and made it incomplete. They had to kick to Miami and then the tie.

I am a Notre Dame and IU fan, for good reason. My hat is off to Ohio. Both teams provided one of the best ever Championship games I have ever seen. Even my wife who does not fish or like sports stayed up for this one and that is saying something.

I will not be like Juan Howard, old Mich player, who said he was rooting for the Canes because he just could not cheer for an old rival. Bull#*!*. Play hard and respect your rivals. Go Big Ten because I live here. Heck, I even cheer for Purdue, if they are not playing one of my 2 teams.

I agree. By saying that, you make my point: the refs do not know what pass interference is. It's called very inconsistently except for at the end of a game. Then the slightest bump and you see a flag. My point is referees should not help determine the outcome of a game.

Again, my hats off to the Buckeyes. They deserved this win.

I respect your opinion, but I do not agree. I did not see any pass interference on that play. At least, not by my definition. I'd like to hear some referees opinions on what is pass interference, because they do not all call it the same way.

By the way, I was rooting for Ohio State to win this game, as I am a Big Ten fan all the way.

It was a good game and, for last night, the best team won. Again, congratulations Buckeyes.

What a great way to start the New Year. This is the best belated Christmas gift I could ever receive, to see all three of those glamour boy Florida teams lose all their bowl games. this is FANtastic!!!!!!!!

The first Big Ten bowl game this year was OT with Wisconsin winning. The last Big Ten bowl game was OT with Ohio State winning. There have only been 7 OT bowl games so far. Looks like the Big Ten does well in OT.

Too bad JoePa couldn't win his game.

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel is assured of making more than $800,000 this year, including almost $200,000 in bonuses for leading the Buckeyes to the national championship game against Miami.

"He's earned everything and then some,'' Ohio State athletic director Andy Geiger said. ***** "We will do our best to make sure he's rewarded.'' ***** ;-)

Congrats to the National Champion Buckeyes!! Most didn't give them a chance but they won the game in true Big Ten fashion, with tough defense and hard hitting. My hat is off to them.

Too bad my Hwakeyes weren't as well prepared as OSU was for their game, the Big Ten could have gone 6-1 in Bowl games. :-(

Oh well, again Congrats to the Buckeyes...

i'm a purdue fan but i was rootin for ohio all the way...they just barely beat purdue....after saying all that the late call on passing interferance in overtime seemed to be a long stretch...i will take it but it was a bad call and miami shoulda won...on the other hand the fg coulda been a foot to the right and miami woulda lost..it was a bad call...steve

its 3rd down with 2 minutes left in regulation,Ohio State has the ball.
Grable # 7 goes out for a pass, the Miami defender grabs his jersy,
not just a little, his jersy is a good 2' from his body,he lets go of it
only to grab it again.if they make that call its first down buckeyes
Miami has one time out and OSU runs out the clock.
so i do think sum people need sum cheese to go with the whine
