View Full Version : Lake Sharpe South Dakota cabins
Looking for a place to stay at Lake Sharpe, cabin type place with kitchen. Any recommendations? Last place we stayed at there was filthy and crawling with bugs.

http://www.state.sd.us/gfp/sdparks/cabins.htm Haven't stayed in one , but I have walked by and they look great from outside (Westbend campground) Anyway I'm not sure what part of Lake Sharpe your'e looking to stay. If in Pierre almost all motels have secure boat parking and I sincerely doubt any bugs in the rooms. My personal preferance is Lilly Park in Ft Pierre (of course I have a 5th wheel camper) Gabby
Thanks Gabby. Looking to stay in Pierre or as close as possible during the RCL Tournament.
Waz: There are lots of excellent places to stay in Pierre. I just called up to the Ramkota and it is full as that is where all the major players are staying. There is the Kelly Inn which is right across the street from the Ramkota and has the same owners. They will supply shuttle service anywhere in town at now charge. There are lots of great and secure places in town. I have lots of info if you'd like numbers or other suggestions. Leave me an email address and I can send off plenty of info as I spend alot of time there.

Waz, if you would quit running around with Tony you could probably get into some of the nicer places that don't have bugs. Good to see you back on here, be good, smack Tony for me and I'll see you guy's at Detroit in a few weeks.

Al, could I get some of that info on motels & reasonable campgrounds close by, still deciding if I'm taking the motorhome or not, the way it sucks gas in hills it may be cheaper to get a room. Thanks Pat
Al, the Pierre Chamber of commerce has an excellent web site with hotels, resorts and campgrounds listed, you can reach it through the RCL website. I was just looking to see if someone could recommend a place with cabin/kitchen units that are clean.

Hi Waz and Rangerpat, dis is Yogi. Hope you fisherwizes have a grrreat time in Pierre. Just in case you can't find a neat retreat in Pierre I'd like to offer my grainery--just cleaned it yesterday with the weather so nice ya kno. We got power, the cistern is just behind, and in the winter the weeds are down so the outhouse is easy to find. We're only about 100 miles from Pierre downtown and cause you folks sound like such nice fellas you can stay for free, and bring your motorhome--ya know the one that sucks in the hills. Jus think of South Dakota as a pool table on the east end--the only hill is when you slide into Pierre--but don't go too fast cause you miss downtown. And end up in Fort Pierre--where you got to be careful Rangerpat, cause they sure hate revenuers there. Stay away from dem Saugers, too.
