I thought I'd share this one since I got a chuckle out of it I thought the rest of you might enjoy it. On Sunday, the big one did not get away. Which is good because lately every time I tie into anything with size... I end up swearing ;-)
Anyway, we brought the fish into the launch for pictures before releasing and a guy came over to check out our catch. My friend made a point of telling the new arrival that, "The lady caught the
lunker." To which the gentleman replied with a smirk that he had caught one larger than that just
a few days ago. A few doubtful looks passed between our small party but no one said what they
were thinking. And then came the big question,
"Whatcha catch them on?" Friend replied, "Husky
jerks." On the deck of the boat laid four rods
still rigged with lures. Mr. I Caught A Bigger One points to a spinnerbait, "That's this, right?"
Buddy says, "Nope, that's a spinnerbait." Guy points to a buzzbait, "Then it must be this."
"Nope, that's a buzzbait," was the reply. He tried one more time, "Then it's this." "Nope,
that's a tube. That other one laying there is a Husky Jerk." With a small smile on my lips, I
got my fish out of the livewell and walked down to the lake to release them. Yeah, I enjoyed it...
wouldn't you have??? Oh, and I'll admit it, we
were fishing for the other brown fish.... :-)
