View Full Version : Tournament must haves
GO 1 FSHN

I was just wondering what types of things you "must have" in your boat/truck when you go to tournaments. I'm hoping this will be a good checklist for me to get ready for a new season.
Thanks,
Joe
Do you mean good ideas or things usually rerquired???
Usually required items that you may not think of are a lanyard for the motor, oh sh*t handle for your co-angler to hold, marine band radio, and possibly flares (great lakes requirement).
(If you own a big-block optimax you would be crazy to not have a set of extra spark plugs)

You will most liekly remember the things you will need while on the water. Concentrate on the things you will need off the water, during travel.
The items listed above +
1. A couple long extension cords and a splitter (may only be one outlet)
2. Good tool kit to fix boat or truck problems
3. Warm weather clothes if it is cold and cold weather clothes if it warm.
4. If you do not know you partner - extra rain gear, gloves, life jacket, fishing equipment
5. Sunscreen, extra sunglasses, a couple of hats,
6. Extra rods, reels, line
7. Extra prop, hub, prop wrench
8. Extra oil
9. Any kind of tackle you may need for that body of water. If you think you will never use a certain presentation at a tournament, that is how it will be won. It alwyas seems to work that way.
10. A good first aid kit with a variety of medications - headache, pepto bismo, rolaids, bandaids, things to remove or cut off a hook in your hand, allergy medicine
I am sure ther is more becasue I seem to forget something everyt tournament I fish. Try to make a good list before each event and double check it.
