I just read the previous post about warning each other about bad things we have purchased. This really isn't fishing related, but some of you may use them as tow vehicles and I'm sure some of your wives haul the kids around in them. If you have a 1995 Ford Windstar with a 3.8L engine you should have gotten a letter telling you of the problems they are having with head gasket failure and the conditions under which they will cover repairs. It also told of the warning signs. We just had ours fixed to the tune of $1200. We were just over 100,000 miles so Ford did absolutely nothing for us. We also had none of the warning signs. If you have a 95 Windstar with a 3.8L and are under 100,000 miles, take it in & get it the head gaskets taken care of. I know of 4 other families with the same van & all have had the same problem. Our local dealer said they do several of these repairs a month. I am not posting this to bash Ford (although I am a newly converted Chevy driver!), I have owned 6 different model Fords over the last 16 years. I just want to inform other windstar owners so you don't have the same problems I did, $1200 buys a lot of crank-baits! Sorry I got so long winded.
