I just bought a metal lip hotntot from The Fishin Hole in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is still left over from 2-3 years ago. There was about 1/2 dozen left, $8 cdn, one colour only. It was yellow with red and green, sort of like a strange firetiger.

Go back and buy all the rest of them. This will soon be your favorite bait and you'd hate to not have a good supply when the Pike start stealing them from you.

Kinda sounds like what we call (Green Pepper) on Saginaw Bay. Does it have little black dots on the back? If so, Shes a hot potato on the Saginaw during certain times in the summer. What's the number on the back of the plastic box? Go get the rest.

It doesn't have any spots on the back and the colours are very bright.

The sides are yellow with some squiggly red marks.
The back is green at the tail and red at the nose.
The belly has a bit of orange.

If it wasn't a snowstorm today I'd go back and buy a few more!

Bobby you have a Firetiger 214. There is alot of them out there. I happen to have 20 of these myself. We use them in Minnesota. Very cheap on e-bay.

Walleye Express you have a 122. I have some of these and they never seem to work in Minnesota, do not know why. Walleye wanna trade something for them?

Gotta be honest with ya. The Green Pepper works better for other people on the Bay than it does for me. I you have any rainbow #68 we can talk.

I thought that he was referring to the #68 rainbow colored lures. I like the contrast that pattern gives off when running in the water. The Red Hot tiger is a good color too, but seems to be better in dirty water situations. Might not be the color for him in clear Canadian lakes. Those #122 Metallic Green with black spots are our #1 producer though in dirty water. Maybe use them when the Bay is a little more stirred up and the silvers and golds when the sun is out. Red bills have have hot for us for the last 2 years. (not on Sag. Bay though, never fished there. Just a suggestion.)

Sorry Walleye cannot help on the 68's. Have never tried that one up here though.

We have the most luck with the Orange H-Bone and the Crawdad.

I remember when Storm first came out with that Orange herringbone and crawdad color. About 1985/87. It was the first year the newly planted Skamania Steelhead returned up the Big Manistee River. Guys who were fishing for Smallmouths in the 60+ degree currents below Tippy Dam were catching Skamanias coincidentely on the real crawdads they were using. Got half a dozen of the crawdads colors in the 1/4 tot, ran these plugs out of my drift boat only about 1/2 mile down to the first bend below Tippy, and hit three beautiful Skamanias along with several nice smallies.

Even did good on them for walleyes one spring opener on the Tittabawassee River, when the river was kinda high and had enough current for me to run my drift boat properly. Got a lot of weird look's that day I'll tell ya. But we went 3 for 5 when everybody else was trying to figure out a pattern for high water. Storm Lures made some darn good products, and gave me a lot of great memories over the years I'll tell ya. Hope Dave Storms New lures continues the tradition.
