I have a brand new johnson 4.0 hp thats runs like you know what! Im p-od to say the least. Pay 1,030.00 for what? It wont even idle! Thats what I got it for. Any one else having this problem?

Those are all fine motors - if you have one that isn't working right for you take it back and your dealer should make it right.
If the engine isn't broken in - it may have to idle a bit higher until it gets broken in.

Your dealer should have no problems getting the problems taken care of. Thousands of these motors are in use and being sold every day - that troll for hours on end and never miss a beat.

I bought a 4hp Johnson this spring and I couldn't get it to run or idle for more than a minute or two. I packed it back up and took it to the dealer-he adjusted the carb and I haven't had a bit of trouble since. good-luck
