View Full Version : Two gps units one reciever?
Is is possible to run two different gps units off of the same reciever. If so how? I'm talking specifically about a lowrance lms 160 on the console, and a lms 350a on the stern, running off the same reciever. Thanks

I run 2 350's off of one reciever, not at the same time or simutaniously, I bought the splitter from Cabela's several years ago. My receiver is only 5 parallel channels but both 350's have been upgraded. I have one on the bow and one on the console. Never had any trouble with this set up. You might try Cabela's for the manufacture, I do not think they handle these any more.

You can connect two Lowrance GPSs together. There are two wires that are next to your negative and positive wires that allow input and output of navigation signals, not sure what they are called but you can either call Lowrance or look in the users guide.

I have a switch box that was designed for two LMS-350A's. It works fine but I do not use it with my LMS-160. I would be willing to sell it for $50 plus shipping. I believe it sold for $129.95 new in 1996. E-mail me if you are interested.

I run the 350 and the GM2000 off one 5 chnl receiver. You'd have to check your book for the 160 for specifics. Run the GPS module into the 350 and then use the white lead from the 350's power cable (NMEA xmt lead) to supply info to your 160's NMEA receive lead.....assuming it has one and has the software capable of optioning to accept the data. That's where you need to check your book or call Lowrance. This way, you don't need any type of "splitter box". You do have to leave the 350 turned on to use the other unit but you can go to the menu section and simply turn the sonar functions off if you don't want both sonars on at the same time.
