I was wondering what knot do you use to splice in 1 or 2 colors of leadcore line to mono or spiderline and still be able to reel it on the reel. I am planning to use the Diawa Linecounter reel. Do you use 1 or 2 colors. How much reg line does one have before splicing in the leadcore.I herd someone say add about a 50 foot leader ahead of the leadcore.

What I do, and I think it's pretty standard, is to strip the lead out of about 6 inches of the end of the leadcore, and tie back to back uni-knots (similar to a clinch knot) in the leader and the leadcore. It's pretty tough to tie a good knot without removing the lead from the leadcore. I know there's other ways too, but that works for me.

You use however many colors of leadcore you need to get a given bait to a given depth at a given speed. It all depends, I think that 3 colors is pretty standard. One color only makes a small difference, a few feet probably.

I use fireline backing, then the leadcore, and then about a 50 foot mono shock leader, so there's a little stretch in the whole rig. You can use more or less, it depends alot on the situation and your preference.

Thanks Eyez
What pound and brand mono shock cord do you use?

I use 12 pound XT usually, but I think that any good line between 10 and 14 pound would work well.
