Dirt Track,
I work at G.M. and at the store I work in I'm the guy that puts up the displays. This year USL seen fit to change how the canvas is attached to thier fish traps. Connecting the cloth to the sled with bolts & nuts just dont cut it.Last years models the canvas was pulled under the lip of the sled and then sealed off with a piece of welt lacing.(the stuff they used to seal trim along door jambs in cars)The reason the front wont go down is they are using the same size canvas, but attaching it different.
A simple fix:
Get a piece of vinyl hose around 12' long and slit the length. Pull the edge of the canvas under the lip of the sled and while doing this slide the hose over it. When done, place a SMALL rustproof screw into the hose and sled lip every 7-8". What your are doing is completely sealing the canvas to the sled(which means no wind gets in) and gives you extra length in the back and allows the front to go down further.
Just remember NOT to pull the back canvas too tight!
This should fix your problem.
