I have the opportunity to buy a couple of Berkley rods, both are 7' 1 piece rods. I'd like to use the for trolling. The seller does not live close to me, so I asked what model they were, and he responded that they are IM28 7M. I know that the 7M part is 7' M action. But the other designation I am not familiar with, nor can I find anywhere.

I am told they are IM7 graphite, but at present have no way to verify this, nor what model they are. Obviously there is a big difference in the price I'll pay between a Series One and a Reflex, for example.

Is the IM28 a misdescription? An old model? Can anyone help identify these rods for me?

Thanks in advance.

IM28-7M is the catalog number for a Berkley Bionix 7 foot casting rod.
