I currently have a Guest 2631 which I am using to try to charge two G27 TM batteries, as well as my starting batteries (two G24 in parallel). My problem is, I can leave the charger on for four hours, four days, or four weeks, and I will never get solely green lights across the charger, only red and green. The batteries (4) are all new this spring, as is the charger. There is no load on the batteries when charging. Ideas?

Also, when I was in the boat while the charger was "operating", I could literally hear the batteries. I really hope I was listening to the sound of batteries charging, not batteries boiling. My gut tells me they were boiling, as a 10 Amp charger outta be able to charge a G27 battery run down to probably 95% (only used 5%) over night. The batteries were really not hot to the touch, though. How can I check to see if I have boiled my batteries?

Thanks

Dave,
I have heard of a couple of situations such as this. We have been investigating the situation, but I do not have results at this time. Please call the technical support department toll free at 1-888-483-7865 ASAP and we can get a new charger out to you.

Hi Dave,
At our next meeting of the walleye alliance I will try to remember and bring liturature about solar pulse. Its a small box that mounts to the posts on your batteries and keeps the plates clean of build up which will shorten the life of your batteries and lengthen the charge time. I know you said that the batteries were new but that they may have been sitting on the shelf for a long time and then with your repeated charging
cycle, clogged the plates. If dont want to wait till then you can call Tom Swartz at 1 (800) 228-7349 or 881-0034 CJ Technology, INc.
I have them on all my batteries and have not had the usual problems as in the past.
Talk to ya later. I'm running up to Merrifield to pick up my boat I had a cover made for it and will be stoping at Mille Lacs on the way home this eveing.
Later

Dave,
Actually, I was at computer training class and was able to access the message board from there. I try to keep up with what is going on from multiple locations in addition to work.
