What do you guys think about the Sparkle Tails that Eppinger sells. Anyone use them? How deep do they run?
Thye look like a pretty good lure...similar to a Hot-N-Tot, but jointed. Any remarks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I always carry a few Sparkle Tails in my tackle box for fishing structure deeper than I fish the jointed L&S lures or River Runts (yes I use these old style plugs). They work! As for depth I can't answer that one except to say that I use them in 12 to 20 foot depths. I usualy troll so boat speed and the amount of line let out will control depth. Experiment to find what works best for you. If you troll structure in the 6 to 12 foot range try a few jointed L&S Mirrolures {OOM23 and OOMRT etc. (mirrolure.com)}. Try River Runt also. You will not be disapointed.

Nice to hear some questions regarding such a good bait. If you are trolling, the Sparkle tail will run about 10-12' deep at the max. However, since they are sinkers the inside lures will drop deeper than that or if you stop. In a straight line though they run about 10'. The pike absolutely love them & I have used this lure as a last resort with good success many times. Be careful how you attach them though, the smallest clip (no swivel) works best & make sure you tune each one before using. If you need anything else, please e-mail me & I'll be glad to B.S. more about them !!
