I know someone already wrote a post about the little thundersticks coming back. Do you guys think the old storms will start being made again. I mean the molds are out there somewhere. What will it take for someone to buy them and start producing them again. I just don't understand how such a great lure can just quit being made. I know rapala makes them and they trying to monopolize the fishing business but why would they make them so crappy if they own the company. I know they are selling nearly as many as they would if they used the old body style. I guess it just boggles my mind to see guys paying $14 for an old storm deep diver. Just would like to see what you guys think.

Like you eluded to in your opening post, this subject has been beaten to death. All the Storm boys signed a (NO Compete) claus when they sold out to Rapala. And rapala is not going to sell any of the old molds to anybody. Why would they? If you have the only game in town, people either come see your game or stay home.

David Storm, Bill Storms son, did not sign any such claus I'm assuming. So the slightest engineering change in any new molds would probably not break any patent laws.

He is now in the process of manufacturing some very impressive Storm cross breeds called Winning Streaks. I say this because I've personally seen, and tub tested them. They are in my estimation, a cross between a Rattle Tot and a Hot-N-Tot. The very two favorites of one heck of a lot of people. And the colors?, Ewww-la-la. They will be available in most all outlets by the end of February.

Some day, I will retire and sell the 5-6,000 old storms I have. I do have about 2,000 still in the box. I will check and see if I have any new Rattl'n thin fins, if so, I will email you. Those I might have enough to part with a couple.

Tight lines,

I'm such a sentimental fool for the old style 1/4 oz Hot N Tots that I was recently paying as much as $10 apiece for some in my favorite colors out on ebay. What can I say, I fished those lures for 20 years and caught alot of fish on them. I hope to fish them for a few more years. I don't even acknowledge the existence of new Tots. To me, a Tot without a metal lip, is but not a Tot.

I hear ya I had caught so many beautiful walleyes on the deep junior sticks especially prizms and the purple my god i couldn't find a better color at one time. Every time you lose one you wonder if you'll ever be able to replace such a great lure. I guess thats the way it falls. I just wonder about those molds though. I mean are they just sitting some where not being used or do you think they've been terminated? Imagine if a guy was able to get his hands on them you'd have no problem selling every lure for 2 or 3 dollars more than what its worth, that adds up to a lot of money very fast. Oh well I just wonder if someday someone will come out with a lure to match them? Hopefully! I guess thats what keeps a fisherman going the challenge of fishing, you can't beat it.

Dave Storm,The son of the original lure maker has started a line called Ka-Boom lures. He has 36 colors in 1/4oz metal lipped almost identical hot-n-tot lures. They look awesome. They are not quite so wide at the tail of the lure and produce an excellent wobble.Shoot me an e-mail and I will send you the color selection chart.
