(Milaca-AP) -- The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension
will examine D-N-A evidence in a sexual assault that could involve
members of the Minnesota Vikings organization who attended a
charity event.
Mille Lacs (muh laks) County Undersheriff Alan Marxhausen says
no charges have been filed, but the investigation is focused on
several members of the Vikings, both players and personnel.
According to police, a 30-year-old woman said she was
socializing with members of the organization early Sunday at Eddy's
Resort near Onamia (oh-NAY'-mee-uh) when the alleged assault
occurred. She was treated at an Aitkin (AY'-kin) hospital.
But authorities have been unable to talk with members of the
Vikings, who have referred questions or requests for interviews to
their attorneys.
Vikings Executive Vice President Mike Kelly told The Associated
Press last night that he knew nothing more than he had heard in
news reports.
The alleged assault occurred during Arctic Blast, a four-day
event staged at several resorts and businesses on Lake Mille Lacs
and orchestrated by a fund-raising arm of the football
organization. The event features appearances by Vikings players,
coaches and alumni.
