I have been fishing the river for the past four years mainly in the early spring and late fall .Last time out was at the beginning of january before it iced over .Water was really low but got some nice sauger in the 20 ft. range . Last year was fishing in late january due to the low water ice formed early.Have a good evening ............... spoamoose

As far as numbers and size I am convinced the IL river can't be beat. Fish can be caught at all depths and all year round. You don't have to be a pro or even know the river just look for the boats and use whatever method you prefer.

Gosh I'm getting old... It has been 20 years fishing the river, sometimes often, sometimes a few times a year. It seem we are coming off a down cycle. Fishing has slowly started to get better, with a low two years ago.
Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions, or hire Cajuns for a guide. Well worth the money.
