I am confused which way is the proper charging amps. I have read in walleye and bass boats magazine that it is best to charge the cranking battery with low amps and the deep cycles with high amps.(Deep=10amps crank=2amps).Yet I have read in other magazines the opposite. Could someone with proper battery knowledge set me straight on the proper set up. I have just installed a double 10amps bank XPS Bass pro on board charger for my trolling batteries. Also have other question for in phase charging unit that charge your trolling batteries while running the the large outboard to another location.Do the in phase keep the trolling batteries charged enough to use when fishing up north.(no electrical outlets to plug in).

I had a guest charger put on my boat. The crankin battery needs no charger, the engine charges it if you have a large engine. The battery charger should set it's own amps. The guest charger I have starts out in a bulk or high load charge then in a few hours reduces itself to just a trickle charge or a top off charge.
