Yes, I used them last weekend on Green Bay. Let me just say, THE PERCH LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!! Hahahaha
I don't think they make that big a difference. Just cost more...;-)

Messy, and expensive are the best way to describe them.

I used the green crawlers in the NAWA tourney on the allegheny resevoir. They did not seem to out produce the regular crawlers. What I did not like about them is when a fish clamps down on them a huge green cloud bursts into the water. This can't be natural looking.Good luck!!

4 times on Pymy this year I limited with them while the nasayers caught shorts. On any given day these are the ticket to catching legal size fish. Last year I thought the " natural " worms were best, little did I know.

Went on Charter out of Port Clinton where the captain banned them because someone used them in the past and made a mess out of his boat. Said the dye stained the boat and took days to get out.

I will chime in on the "for" side. I have used them very successfully this year on Mille Lacs. We tried various unscientific "tests" and determined that we caught 3-to-1 vs. plain crawlers and leeches. It could be luck, but after 7 days of fishing in various conditions and over different bottom types the greenies did make a difference. Everyone can say what they like, but if I can get 'em I'll bring 'em along very time!

I tried them out one day when I was "guiding" my father and brother. They were more of a curiousity than anything else that day; but they did make quite a mess of the cooler.
I kept the dirt they were packed in (2 cartons) and put them in a larger styrofoam container. I then put some other crawlers in the dirt and, one week later, I had more green crawlers.
So if you like them, but not the expense, buy some and save the dirt. Make your own.
I have talked to a lot of guides this spring, all of whom have tried them. They all say the same thing - no difference in fish catching rate -- and big difference in boat. i.e. very very dirty and messy with the boat. None of them will fish with them, nor allow them on the boat. Too messy.
I concur.
Take care
