Why doesn't offshore offer a board with the tattle tale flag kit already installed?,or am I not looking in the right catalogs?

While installing the flags on a couple of my boards last night I thought the same thing. Installation is easy but?????????????

It's simple. The Tattle Flags are an OPTION, that's how a business makes money. No money, no business. It's an individual choice to use them, or not to use them. This is America!

Good question. I would guess that it would have something to do with the almighty dollar.

Another reason would be packaging. Some anglers would not want, or use the tattle flags, namely people that fish for hard striking fish such as Salmon, Steelhead, and Northern's to name a few. By selling the tattle flag as an option then each individual can decide which way they want to go.

God bless america my little tattle tale flag using buddy but it seems the option should be to buy a comlete board with or without the flag kit.Frogman,do the salmon and pike fisherman use these boards much? I would think these fish would tend to release the board upon the impact from the strike. If they slide the board down the line to a stopper there would be a lot of hardware and fish to be flailing around at boat side. Thanks for your reply's.Good fishing

We all know where we live. The question was a good one, your answer was not. Because it is America, as you point out, the other OPTION is don't buy the board or the optional flag, because, in my opinion, other boards give more value for the buck

Frank, i do use the off shore board for musky, and i still take the board off just like i do for walleye. i have tried some of the others and i still like the off-shore better, but i am one that doesnt need the tattletale flags. this is just like everything else, everybody has a different opinion, and different choice. but at least we do have a choice. good luck and good fishin.

i don't mind spending the extra money for the tattle tail kit. the problem i have is why doesn't the spring that they send with the kit work worth a hoot, and their clips also leave something to be desired. don't get me wrong i love the tattle tale idea and it has imnproved my board fishing 100%, but their are somethings that the company needs to work on....Offshore are you LISTENING

I have relatively little experience with the boards, but spent some time using them a couple weeks ago. We were fishing walleye, but gotta admit that when a northern grabbed my crankbait and made the board go backwards 50 feet it was a heartstopper!

I don't have a real problem with the add-on kit, but would like to see Offshore include a selection of three springs with each kit. The one they include now would be for less agressive crankbaits, the ones I bought at the hardware store (C-71, I believe) would be for medium, and a third spring would be included for real arm-shaking cranks.

Oh yeah -- I retrofitted both boards with Wille snaps (as suggested on this board), and have (so far) never had a board even slide to my lure -- they hold magnificently.

I've got to admit that I haven't used 20-foot-plus cranks with the boards yet -- I can't imagine either spring that I'm now using being able to keep the flag from going all the way to the board.
