Rick-
There is a guy selling some on the swap board, and there is another guy asking about them who got some good leads. Check there, If you dont find anything, I may be able to help you out.

Rick,
Click the Products page and scroll down a little. You will see Riviera downrigger and handline kits listed. Click on that to get more information on how to order their products.

Out here in SE Michigan they carry them at Gander Mountain, Cabelas, etc. due to the popularity of the technique. They tend to carry Kachman brand which I own and like. Bought from a local small town tackle shop for $90 bucks new. A&S are suppose to be top shelf at about $140. Here is another shop that sells and would probably ship. Nothing like fighting a fish with your hands and arms..gilly

The Kachman handline kit, found at the above addy, comes with one reel (loaded with 60# coated wire) one shank (with two clevises), one weight (1 1/4#), and one rail mount, or if requested, a rod holder mount.

I am new to handlining this upcoming spring and also had the same problem of finding the right gear. I followed up on a past post that reccomended Lakeside Tackle in Michigan and found the people there extreemly helpful. I purchassed an A&S reel and also ordered 4 extra shanks and 4 weights considering I'll probably snag up few times my first season out. They shipped my order within two days and everything was in "A-1" condition. I would advise that you order soon as they seem to build a waiting list for their more desirable reels such as the A&S. Don't be put off by their web site as it's not the worlds greatest. $149 for an A&S and the shanks and weights were under $2 each. And yes, the A&S is a very nice reel and well built. Worth the extra few $.
