Does anyone know what the policy is for Rapala or Reefrunner on returning crankbaits?
I have 1/2 dozen crankbaits(rapala's)that were cooked in the sun last year and the plastic bill melted, impossible to even try to use them does anyone have any experience returning items at Rapala?
I alos have a couple of reef runners were the bills snapped off on snags. I now, I use some rope for line, but what's RR's policy?
Thanks for the information.

I have returned many raps from no fault of thier own, the bills broke hanging up on rocks. Im sure they would replace yours as well.

this is another good one. paint comes off from catching too many fish, now they pop cause YOU left them in the hot sun. come on now. answer me one question. Do yo return your crawlers if you leave them in the sun too? It's your fault. throw em away and buy some more.

your negligence is not rapalas problem. toss the cranks in the trash and get out the wallet for new ones.

PerchJerk - thanks I'll investigate further.
As for the rest of you yahoo's. Might I elaborate further, the Rapala's were in the same box sitting in the same hot sun as reef runners, wally divers, thundersticks and yet they were the ONLY ones damaged.Pardon me if I come across as a cheap #####, but I only wanted YOUR OPINION or information on how one might return these lures regardless of my negligence. If I wanted lip service I would talk to my in-laws!
Yes, I have opened up my wallet buying these products for 20yrs and have no complaints. Just looking for a little service, but I guess that hasn't hit the fishing industry yet reading #91's comments.
As for the worms in the hot sun... well I wouldn't know, I fish cranks.

Atta boy Joe, you got to stick up for yourself around here! I too, have returned some raps with various problems and they returned new ones to me very promptly. Good Luck

I've got a couple Hot-n-tots that the body's have bubbled up and become mis-formed. They are sometimes the only baits that get hit. They're in my tournament box now and only used sparingly. If you could re-heat the bills with a heat gun and reform the bill, they might become your go to baits. Good luck getting Rapala to replace your baits.

Geez. I would think the people at Rapala know when a lure is abused (like mine) Maybe they are replacing them just out of goodwill? There is a lot of competition out there for our money. Its not easy to find a company that stands behind thier products. I say the more power to 'em. For every one I have broke, I have probably bought 2 others because I know they will stand behind them. Just good business sense if you ask me.

I haven't returned lures to Rapala, but I have to other companies and they have been replaced. Rapala (Normark) did replace a scale I wasn't pleased with and I would guess they'd replace the lures.
If and when you return the lures, either cut off the hooks or make sure they're in a package where nobody can hurt themselves.
