I just got the Fishing HotSpots map for Winnie, and it says that most of the walleye congregate on the north end of the lake in the spring. We are going to be staying at Judd's on the southwest end--is there any decent spot to fish near there? Thanks

Last spring, because of the early ice out, and I suspect that this year will be the same, excellent fishing was had -- right in front of Judds on Raven Reef, and Mallard point.

The normal migration pattern for Winni walleye is as follows:
In the summer they are in the mid depth flats. Then as fall approaches, they migrate toward the north end into cut foot and into little cut foot for spawning in the spring. As spring approaches, the reverse is true. i.e. eary ice out finds lots of migrating walleyes coming out of little cut foot into cut foot and into Winni. They then tend to follow the north shore and as the post spawn continues -- spread back into the mid lake flats.

So, yes, you should see excellent fishing on a lot of spots near Judds.

Take care
