Concerned MWT Guy

As of today, only 30 boats have signed up for all 4 Michigan Walleye Tour events. Is there a big problem or concern out there that I do not know about? As of now, all 30 of us have qualified for the state finals.
just an observation

I don't know why but the MWT site lists teams 1 thru 30 and then skips team numbers 31 thru 60. It then starts listing more teams from 61 thru 90. Looks like there may be 60 total teams that signed up for all 4.
Need some competition

Last year the MWT filled only 2 of 4 events, two years ago they had a waiting list. Are they going the same direction as the Michigan WWA, 10-12 boats at a tournament? They ask for input, then don't respond to any of the suggestions at all. Two flights of 30 is not a lot of competitors.

You're right - I looked at it wrong myself and thought that only 30 teams had signed for all four. Looks like they're putting the guys signed for all four at the front of the flights, which makes sense. I'd rather be boat #61 than #59.

With a cheating scandal, scales that won't lock and stay on as long as the guy has friends in line, lousy places to fish, a TERRIBLE finals location (third year in a row, still not a good idea), Poor Payouts, a director who asks for help and then ignores all suggestions, no excitement for the spectators, rules that are followed only when the director feels like it (Yes the boats at the Sault last year were LATE, but no one filed a protest!! Sounded like a good protest on the radio)it is no wonder that the MWT is loosing willing participants. Bet they don't fill any at all this year. I know I won't be there. Someone needs to give them a big wake up call.

I fished the MWT in 2000 and 2001, took a year off, and am planning to fish the tour again this year. I had a great time the last time that I fished it, but am concerned by the bad vibes that I am getting from the 2002 tour. I understand the "late...no protest" problem, but can somebody shed a bit of light on the cheating issue. I think that someone mentioned that it was on the Detroit River. No names, obviously, but I'd like to get an idea of what went down.
Thanks

Bluepike, the cheating thing was that a local competitor was accused of having live fish in a basket prior to the tournament which he brought in as part of his day one catch. He was said to be witnessed, but the commitee refused to challenge him on it. Day two got fogged out, and JD did not handle his first tournament as director very well. Pissed off a lot of guys, and its all gone downhill from there.
