Underwater, waterproof, or weatherproof? Digital still camera or digital video? Visit B&H Photo Video's website to get an idea of what's available and how much it will cost. By the way, they are a good store with good technical advice and salespeople.

I have a new digital video camera and was wondering if there was some sort of waterproof case to house it. I would like a case that would allow me to use the camera while maintaing it waterproof. Not underwater, but in the boat. Anyone seen one like this?

There is a camera "housing" that looks a lot like a ziplock bag. It fits over the camera, and your hands enter through the bottom. They are quite weather proof. The next step up is a long one, all the way to the very expensive waterproof housings.

I have a waterproof 35mm Minolta I bought about 6 years ago for $250. It takes pretty good pictures and it's a lifesaver in the rain. There have been many times in the rain I have wanted to get a photo and wouldn't have pulled my other camera out. I have taken quite a few underwater pictures while snorkeling with it, but the quality of hte photos taken while fully underwater have been pretty disappointing.

I got a Pentax Zoom 90WR, and love it. I can't use it under water, but it's 100% rainproof. The Owner's manual even recommends rinsing under the water faucett for sand removal.

If your lookig for a 35mm that is waterproof, underwater ready, takes good pictures, and is reasonably priced I went with the canon, sure shot A1 prima-as-1. It takes a great picture in and out of water in any condition from snow too rain to sunshine. It retails for under $150.00 bucks and is worth every penny. You can reach canon at 1-800-828-4040. I tried to find a web address but could not but it could be something simple like www.canon.com or canoncameras.com but not sure hope this helps.

I would also be interested in a water resistant digital camera for still pictures.
