whas the reason for long leaders vs short leaders when it comes to londy rigs ect..and with or without a floater

Mainly control. You want as short of a leader as you can get away with. You increase the length to entice finicky fish. The ultimate rig is a jig. There you have precise control over where your bait is. Sometimes snells are longer when using a floater. There you are targeting fish up off the bottom. Your snell length determined by how far up the fish are on your electronics.

I agree with Mark 100%. I happen to use Lindy rigs almost exclusively with floating jigs. I can target the suspended fish by using a combination of snell length with size of floater.

Thanks, I never really left Walleye Central, but I will probably be posting a bit more than I used to. I have always read the boards every day tho.
