I am looking for a resort that would offer me a stay right on the lake through the ice(next year).I read the other post, but those seemed to focus on open water fishing. Some good info would help(prices, web sites, etc.)Would like to know the best time to go also.(for eyes and pike)
Thanks
Adam

There's a bunch of good ones right at the mouth of Rainey River. Also, you can check out Zippel Bay. Both locations have easy access to the big water area (Traverse Bay) of LOTW, and they all offer transport to ice houses.

Call Les Erickson(218-634-2924), he is a hard working guide and a nice, down to earth guy. He has his own fish houses and will set you up with lodging at one of the many resorts on wheeler's point. Last December he charged us $35 a day, per person for fishing, that includes transportation to and from the fish house and all the bait you need. He set us up at the Wigwam for $30 a night, per person. The best fishing through the ice is generally before the first of the year. Or if you like, just call one of the many resorts and they will take care of you. Good Luck.

Thank you very much Westy. Do you know of anyone who could also set us up to stay on the ice overnight who is reasonably priced? We would like to try that for maybe one of the nights.
