Mike - I know what a nuissance it is that you are talking about. I had the same problem with my Motorguide. I solved it by buying a bolt of the same diameter (3/8 inch for my motorguide)as the original pin, not a hardened bolt, and had a friend cut the grooves in it on a lathe. I had him make two of them just in case I would ever misplace one. I tried locating a pin that was 1/4 inch longer at first, but had no luck. - Kevin B

FIRST OF ALL ITS A MINN KOTA! I HAVE ONE AND ITS PIECE OF &&$#. I BOUGHT IT NEW LAST YEAR AND THE BOLT BENT AND THE HOOK BROKE. SERVICE WAS POOR AND A GUY HAS TO FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL TO GET WARRANTY ON IT. BUT IF YOU REPLACE THE PIN, MAKE SURE YOU USE A HEAVIER BOLT.
