I have a Bottot Line Species Select that I can swear by when it's o
working. My problem is I have to send the whole unit in once a year for a power cord end that goes in to the head of the unit that corrodes of all the time. Is there anywhere I could just by the cord for it and bypass the whole unit expense?

Just talked to Bottomline yesterday, same problem. Reed's in Walker has the power cord for my 310. (1-800-346-0019 Reed's) Try putting Dioelecrtic grease on the two power prongs. Hope I'm doing this right, just got computer.

Well I guess that I'm still not going to go back to "bottom line", after all the woes I had with them I just gave the darn thing away and went to an eagle. Its really boring, the UPS guy that I really got to know well who kept bringing my unit back from the shop, thinks I gave up fishing. No just gave up on certain products.

Larry G I agree with you that there will never be another Bottom Line in my boat . Thankyou Red Roof as I just called Reeds and they had the pwr cord at 17.50 I think it was. You just saved me a ton of money on the yearly send in. Mybe Lary G can got some material he needs to keep his investment working.

Ive had a bottom line, TOURNAMENT MASTER, depth finder for about three years now and could"nt be
happier with it.I would like to add a gps to it
and see what it will do then. I have not any j
problems with corroding cables, but will keep my
eyes open for this. thanks and good luck fishing.

Yes, yes, yes...dielectric grease on all metal contacts will prevent or eliminate corrosion as well as provide good lubrication to the twist on connections. Use it sparingly. Just enough to coat the contacts and a little around the connection collar. I put a dab on a q-tip and work it into the male and female connections of my depth finder, trolling motor, battery terminals, etc. Everything remains as clean as when I installed them.

NOTE: Grease will collect dust and debris, so you will want to clean your contact point out seasonally, or as needed, and refresh the coating then.

Dielectric grease is available at almost all auto parts store and Radio Shacks for about $3.

I also like to use film roll canisters and cut a slit in the lid from the edge to the center, then cut a little hole in the center. Slide the cord through the slit and then put the canister on and Then you can keep those connectors covered.
