Are you supposed to attach a Scorpion to the line or with a split ring. If split ring, what size? Thanks in advance

I use a ball bearing swivel and it works well. I did get some nasty twist when white bass didn't trip the dipsy and you drag them for a mile.

The ball bearing doesn't inhibit the action at all?

If you don't use a swivel you WILL have a twisted mess.

We use a quality ball bearing swivel, no split ring. Also with a 100% flourocarcon jumper the stifness of the leader material helps eliminate twists. I worried about limiting action on the small spoons, but it wasn't been a problem.

I put a small crosslock snap on all of my Stingers and it doesn't seem to hurt the action. My swivel is then up the line at the front of the leader. Leader length doesn't appear to bother the fish. If they want it, they'll grab it.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-28-00 AT 11:38AM (CST)[p]I have tried several way and feel the lighter the connection, the better the action of the scoprion. I use a cross lock or Normans speed clip at the spoon and a ball bearing snap/swivel on the other end of a 6 foot 100% flourocarcon leader.
