Hello I probally sound like a real big idiot but how do you fish shadraps? I seriously dont know because I have never fished artifical baits for walleyes. Do you tie them onto a bottom bouncer or something?

Shad Raps can be fished a number of different ways. I longline troll them a lot and also behind planer boards. The shallow runners can be pulled behind a bottom bouncer. You can also cast Sahd Raps, both the deep and shallow depending on where you are fishing and how deep.
Get a copy of Percision Trolling. This book will tell you how deep these baits will run when trolled. It will give you somewhat of an idea of how deep they will run when casted.

These are great baits that can be used all year long.
Good luck
Scott

adam, try this on WE when you see those ciscoes topping the water, later in the year, open water trolling is very relaxing and can be very rewarding, might want to get some planer boards though, to get the spooky ones, good luck, minneman

Shad Raps are also super cranks to use off downriggers. In the Door Peninsula waters (on either side) they will take some mighty big brown trout -- and, they're great walleye lures. The charters on Big Traverse Bay of LOTW use Shad Raps quite a bit. As to how -- simply run them clean (rapala knot or snap) behind the downrigger weight -- eight to ten feet is usually enough.
