View Full Version : Trailer Wiring
I recently purchased a new Chevy Express that came prewired with trailer wiring. The only requirement for me is to make the final connection. In the back of my van I have 5 wires, 2 green, 1 brown, 1 yellow, and 1 white. The connector I purchased is the traditional 4 wire flat type with 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 blue and 1 white. How do I make the final connection? Do I splice together the 2 green wires coming from the van and connected it to the one green wire on the 4 wire connector? Thanks in advance to all the reply.
John, if you do that it should be ok.the book should tell you, but it will work that way.

If it came pre-wired, go to your local auto parts store and buy cheap ($5 - $10) 5 to 4 conversion adapter. They may not have the newest model years in their books, but there are only so many 5 to 4 combinations combinations so an existing adapter for last year's GM models will work fine.
I like the no-splice theory. Ia Craig
I just went through the same thing with a new Chevy pickup the dark green is for backup lights which you don't need use the light green.
