View Full Version : looking for info on Menomonee River near Marinette
looking for any info or web sites about the bite on the menomonee river near marinette, any info would be appreciated. thanks
It's the "Menominee River". Walleyes are being caught with some consistency when the weather is decent. The fish are pre-spawn yet. Trollers in the bay are doing ok for browns with an occasional walleye being caught. Remember, the walleye limit in the Menominee river is only 1 per man per day. The MI and WI DNR monitor this very closely and the give out lots of tickets. Furthermore, you can't keep any walleyes in the MI boundry waters in the bay until 5/15/00. You can keep 3 walleyes in the WI boundry waters...just don't wet a line once you've come back into the river to load boat!!!! Water levels are low. A local site to check further is www.fishline.com. Good luck

Ahhh, the memories. I use to fish that river regularly when my grandma lived up that way(Menominee MI).
A more 'generic' site is http://www.dnr.state.mi.us/WWW/fish/html/weekly_report.htm#upperpen
Updated weekly and usually has some report about the Menominee River. I fished off the Hatie St bridge last year(July??) and caught walleyes using a nightcrawler on a size 6 hook with a few split shots and just let it go with the current.
All fished released.
Good luck.
