I am going to start using leadcore line and would like some questions answered. I purchased two Abu Garcia 6500 reels and put them on 7' and 6.6' medium heavy rods. Good choice? I don't need line counters. What kind of knot do you use to tie to backing and leader? What kind of depth can I get using 30' or 35' leader and say DD14 or the Deep Little Reef runner? Any other advice pro or con would help...Thanks D.R.

I ran lead core for about 10 years in the late 60s into the 70s. I am not in the least sorry I got rid of my lead core rigs and the mess they can cause if you get a big strong fish on another line who wants to cross the lead line. There are too many other, more efficient ways to get depth.
