Want to put a flasher unit on my boat. Looking for recommendations. The Zercom ColorPoint sounds interesting. Have also looked at the Vexilar. Need input from any of you that have experience with these units from a boat.

I retired the Vexilar (Gave it to the kids.) and have gone with the LCF-40. I don't need all the color and flash. You get to know what is fish, and what isn't after a while anyway. I like the solid line rather than the constant flickering of the color units. I think that the Zercom has the best backlighting on the market. Very easy on the eyes whether you are in the ice shack, or using it on the bow mount.

Rupe,
I have used all models of flashers, both in the boat and on the ice. They all have their plusses and minuses. Have you looked into Humminbird's Pro Flasher? It works great, does everything that the more expensive models do and last time I checked, the unit ran for about $120. I bought mine for $90 4 years ago, I use it on the ice where I can see my ice jig clear as day at 40ft plus. They are hard to find but look into it.
