Going to repack the bearings in my Shorelandr' soon and am wondering where to get new rear seals. Do I have to get them from Shorelandr', or can I get them from any auto parts store? If I can get them from an auto parts store, how do I make sure I get the right ones?
As always, thanks for any information,
Joel B.

Joel, At the auto parts store you should get the real seals as a package with your new set of bearings. Most new bearing sets come this way.
To make sure you get the right set, bring in an old bearing, and tell them what you've got. They will get you the right parts.

Howdy, Joel -
I just went through this yesterday while replacing the bearings, etc in my '97 Shoreland'r
1928. This particular trailer has a tapered spindle, hence, it uses two different size bearings. The NAPA parts (and part #s) included the following:
(2) BR17 - This bearing kit includes a 1 3/8" bearing #L68149 and race #L68111
(2) BR4 - This bearing kit includes a 1 1/16" bearing #44649 and race (I forget #, but can get it this evening)
(2) 17404 seals
These are SKF bearings and races. I would have prefered to install Timkins, but could not find them in Mpls on a Sunday!
Hope this helps...
