Thanks fellows for the advice on using Lime A way for hard water marks. It worked fine on my outboard motors. Wasnt sure if I could use it on the unpainted hull and bottom part of my aluminum boat. Would it affect the compound on the seams? or the painted sides? Thanks

I used Lime A Way on my Lowe for years (painted hull) and it worked great. When I was done cleaning it, I gave it a coat of wax. It looked almost as good when I sold it as it did new. (had it 7 years)

I have never used Lime A Way, but I have used plain old vinegar. Vinegar doesn't cause any problems with anything, includeing polluting the water. Try it, it really works.

Try WD-40. Works for me.

Be careful with WD-40. It contains petroleum
distillates and may pollute.

I have not use Lime Away but I have used the Works
which is a simular product. It "Works" fine on the motor but I have noticed that when you get drops of it on a stainless steel prop, the prop developes rust. So be carefull when using these types of products around stainless steel.
Has any one tried Claen Shower on ther motors? We use it in our shower at home and was wondering how it would work on lake water? I think I'll have to give it a try.
