Off Shores are probably themost popular. many addons and extras if you need them. Good product

Go to the Mainpage here at Walleye Central, and click on the Off Shore Logo...or go to www.offshoretackle.com.

My choice too. Easy boards to use. Like ETT said, they are a very popular boards.

I'll vouch for the Mr. Walleye boards. For years and years, I used the original Yellow Birds. They were OK, but they would have a tendency to dive.
Always thought that I needed to have a board release in order to fish big fish (salmon/steelhead), but have since learned that using the boards walleye style, that is, grabbing and unclipping the board, works alright on those fish too.

One thing I like about the Mr. Walleye board is their ability to use up to ten colors of lead core
or 4-5 oz. of lead and still pull it out to the side (and still float). I also like the bright orange color as it is clearly more visible than
bright yellow.

As mentioned above, the off-shore brand is top notch also. Additionally, some people I know swear by Willies, so, if anything, you got plenty of choices.

Fished Off Shore Boards for the last three years, absolutely no problem. Very flexible with many options. Good Luck and Fish Safe!

I have them all.....off shore, willie's, roach.
I would say that the off shores are the best once you get them set up with the tattle tail flag system. To me the tattle tail flag system will only perform once you retro fit it with Mr. Walleye clips and a heavier spring than what comes standard from Off shore. The spring is a C-73. Planner boards are a very good addition to anyone's arsenal of weapons. I wouldn't troll with out them.

I have both the Off Shore and the Mr.Walleye brands. I prefer the Mr. Walleye...they hold on Fireline and they are easier to take off when you have a fish on.

You didn't say what type of boards you wanted to use. We use the big boards in the Western Basin of lake Erie. We use the Willie brand. I know several charters & they have made thier own & work fine. The plans are real easy to find.
Good luck.

Take a look at the Tru Trac I have 4 off shore they are nice but I left them at home once and my partner had the tru trac they seemed really nice can be used on either side of boat and are half the price of the off shore. My buddy was telling me about them and I just thought he was talking #$#$ went out and brought 4 off shores. 70 bucks wish I would of listened to him.

I would suggest using the OffShore Tackle In-Line Planer Boards. They provide a versatile, and user friendly application to planer board fishing. I have fished with these boards since they were first developed, and have found little errors in their functioning properly, and with their ability to be operated by someone new to the system.

The OffShore Releases that come on the OffShore Tackle Boards are tested in extreme conditions and have proven very reliable and effective.

If you need any further advice feel free to email me, and I can give you my Phone Number so we may discuss further into your inquiry.

I hope I was some help,
