View Full Version : My Son Zach Came Home Today!
THANKS TO ALL of you for your thoughts and prayers. We got home today around 3 PM after being in 2 hospitals for 13 days it sure felt good to get home. According to the infectious disease control doctors at Geisinger, my son was at the wrong place at the wrong time, because this kid is not a sickly little boy. The doctors are still not completely sure what all he had (only 1 organism grew in the cultures, but there sure he had 2 bugs), and they were nasty ones. They said that they only see 5 or 6 cases as bad as his in a year.
Zach is on 2 powerful antibiotics and we will continue to administer them intervenes at home for another 12 days. He also had 2 surgical procedures to help clean out his infection. Now it’s time to fatten up that boy, he lost approximately 15% of his weight. I hope no one ever has to go through what we did, and I thank everyone for all you prayers. I don’t know if Zack would have pulled through without all the prayers he receiver from people all over the country. It’s amazing how he name spread through prayer groups!
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS
Now that we are all home, it’s time to get my boat out of storage and take my son and daughter out fishing!
Thanks again,
Chaz.

Welcome home Zach. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
You know Chaz, sometimes it takes a near tragedy like you had to really appreciate what you've got.
It's made me sit a spell and ponder. Wishing your family well.....Richard

I'm sure you consider yourself blessed to have him home and healing. Also, you can look back and consider yourself blessed for having had the experience. It's hard to understand at the time, but you may find this experience shapes the way you view the world, and what is or isn't important. I learned some lessons from a couple years of cancer treatments and found meaning in Romans 5:2-5; 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17; and James 1:2-5; among others.
I'm delighted to here your news. The night I read your post, I prayed for your son with my kids and gave them an extra hug. Thank you for the reminder of how precious life is.
