I'm wondering where some of the words we use in fishing came from??? For instance, lunker that sure isn't in the dictionary??? And this Piggy thing... Not a very respectful
way to address a fish who's reserved nature outfoxes many of us??? (Only teasing, BE) So anyway, how about some more slang
terms????

"Pig" or "Piggy" (thanks BE) is a latin term for the words "fish obesity", yea thats it fish obesity. This is a common occurrence when you combine intelligence with an uncontrollable appetite. Girth measurements are extremely high with this phenomenon and a look of constant bloatiness is witnessed. Some anglers confuse this with spawning season but to the experienced fisherman we just smile and yell SOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEE!

They have also been known to have a sophisticated palate, succumbing only to the urge to dine on succulent frog leg's! (Gee, I miss my cousin Buck!)

Since we're back on the frog thing... I wonder how many Prince
Charming's have wound up piggy bait because of BE. Buck, you'd be better off being my bait, instead of Backwater Eddy's... At least, with me you'd go out with a kiss.

Hey, Eddy, I checked out your Backwater Guide page. Neat artwork, and very informational :-) But I don't understand about the guest page?????? 95% of the messages and emails left there
were from women???? Wow, cat fishing must be more popular among the ladies than I thought :-) I think I stumbled upon the modern
bachelor's version of the little black book.... You'll notice I
didn't leave a message nor an email.

My buddy the bass addict (too bad for him!)would call our golden friends "Gravel lizards". I'm going to start using "stumpsuckers" around him more often. Also, we my regular group of ice fishing buds and I refer to eelpout as "Smileys". They're always breakin' a grin, even when frozen!
