Hi, I'm 9 years old. I am going here with my dad and grandpa
on the weekend of oct. 7. How is the fishing then? How is the weather?

Mitch --
Tell us a little more about Lake Hubert. Where is it? How big? How deep? Type of weeds (the big word is vegetation)? Is it like other lakes in the area (state)? What have you heard? Are there walleyes? Perch? panfish?
As for weather, you can expect almost anything this time of year if you are upper Midwest. The leaves should be beautiful in a line from northern Ohio across to Wis and into Minnesota (Northern Wis and Minn may be done then, except for Door County in Wis and the North Shore of Superior in Minn). Learn to dress for just about anything -- weather (unless severe storms) should not keep "good anglers" off the water. Good luck.

Well if you are talking about the lake Hubert near Brainerd and Nisswa in Minnesota, I think you will like it. Lake Hubert has a good variety of fish including walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and a good crappie bite. I took my daughter there this spring and we caught some real nice crappie. You may want to stop at S and W bait on HWY 371 or Koeps Bait, both between brainerd and Nisswa, and get a lake map and ask for specific information from them where they could point to spots on a map to try. The weather has been very nice and the leaves are nearing the peak colors right now. Good luck and have fun.

I second the idea to go out and get a good lake map.
I fish Hubert once a year, but in the summer. Here's a couple tips I can share.
Walleyes often hold along a sharp break just out from Camp Lake Hubert on the west side of the lake. The depth will quickly drop from 8 feet to 30-plus feet. Work a jig and minnow along that breakline.
Also, there's a long sand bar that extends at least halfway across the lake from the north end, nearer the east side of the lake. The sand bar will hold various panfish and where it breaks off into deeper water there will occasionally be walleyes.
Good luck.
